Dannii Minogue celebrates turning 40

Dannii Minogue celebrated her 40th birthday with a lavish party on a tram Down Under.

Minogue marked the milestone on Thursday and was treated to a ride on the iconic Tramcar Restaurant in Melbourne with a group of friends and family.

She was handed a stack of birthday cupcakes and shown a video message from her friends in London, including a tribute from her former X Factor co-star Simon Cowell and a message from her famous sister Kylie, according to The People.

The party, which included Minogue's parents Ron and Carol, her partner Kris Smith, Fifi Box, Melissa LeGear, and Benji Hart, started the evening with drinks at Crown's plush Waiting Room bar.

After piling on to the tram the party rattled around Melbourne with champagne flowing.

Ever the romantic, Minogue's handsome partner Smith started her birthday with a champagne breakfast in bed.

Minogue has never batted an eyelash about getting older.

She explained her philosophy: "The lucky ones get to get older."
