David Letterman's late show home broken into...

The Ed Sullivan Theatre, home to David Letterman's late show has been broken into.

The New York police were alerted to the possible burglary at the historic venue, where the Beatles made their US debut, early on Sunday.

Reports suggest the intruder pried open a metal bar on the glass doors at the entrace to the Manhattan theatre.

At present, no arrests have been made and it remains what, if anything, was stolen.
