Property tycoon Donald Trump might have to wait a little bit longer to build the "world's greatest golf course" in Scotland as he awaits permission.The American business mogul wants Scottish officials to grant him permission to build a $2 billion (£1 billion) golf resort in Aberdeen - but the plans have been met with strong opposition from environmental protestors.The campaigners claim Trump's luxury 18-hole golf course - which will include a 450-room, five-star hotel, 900 vacation homes, and 500 luxury homes costing up to $2 million (£1 million) each - will cause significant damage to the environment.But throughout a public inquiry into the case, Trump has insisted that failing to green light the project would be a "terrible blow" to the country.He reiterated his point at the end of the inquiry on Friday, In his closing speech, his lawyer Colin Boyd told the officials, "In my submission, this truly is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. We will not see its likes again. It would be a tragedy for Scotland if we let it pass by". Referring to Trump's determination to proceed with the project, Boyd added, "In my experience of my client, the word 'cannot' does not appear in his dictionary". Trump needs to secure the approval of Scottish Government ministers and win over the public if he is to secure planning permission for the golf resort. The findings of the inquiry will be reported to the Scottish government in the coming months, but an official decision is not expected until the end of the year.
