A 'Donnie Darko' sequel has finally been confirmed - and starts filming this week (18.05.08).'S. Darko' is set seven years after the death of Donnie and centres around the youngest Darko, Samantha, again played by Daveigh Chase.The cast is also set to include Ed Westwick, Briana Evigan and Justin Chatwin. The plot follows 18-year-old Samantha and her best friend Casey, who are plagued by disturbing visions during as road trip to Los Angeles.The original movie's director, Richard Kelly, is not returning. Chris Fisher, who directed 'Nighstalker' has taken over the helm.Chris said: "I am a great admirer of Richard Kelly's film and hope to create a similar world of blurred fantasy and reality. Donnie's not in the new film but there are meteorites and rabbits."Jake Gyllenhaal starred in 'Donnie Darko', which was released in 2001.
