Driver Thankful For Drug Addict Role.

Driver Thankful For Drug Addict Role.... Actress Minnie Driver has welcomed her new role as a convicted drug addict, because she is tired of being typecast as someone's love interest.

The Good Will Hunting star plays drug fiend Dahlia Malloy in the TV comedy drama The Riches, and Driver is thankful for the part because it gave her the opportunity to show her worth.

She tells the New York Daily News, "It was hard-core. I wanted to look ugly and frightening, exactly like you would if you were addicted to methamphetamine and you were just getting out of jail.

"The Riches was definitely a chance to put down that girl-next-door or the girlfriend and play something really interesting."

Meanwhile the actress has criticised fellow stars Kate Winslet, Kate Beckinsale and Cate Blanchett for stealing all the best film roles in Hollywood.

Driver, who was nominated for her performance in Good Will Hunting, is reportedly concentrating on television roles after facing a lack of film offers.

She says "There are maybe four actresses who get the really wonderful roles, and they are mostly called Kate."
