Duffy's Maths Problem.... Welsh soul star Duffy once pretended she wanted to study economics - because she feared ridicule over her hopes of a singing career.

The singer admits she lied to her school teachers about her wish to study maths.

She says, "They asked me what I wanted to do and I made it up because I thought, 'I'm a singer, they won't believe me.' "So I said I wanted to do economics. And they looked at my maths score and they were like 'Are you having a laugh?' "I was really bad at maths."
