Dustin Hoffman's Finger Injury Mystery

Dustin Hoffman has injured his finger in a mystery accident - which he jokingly blames on a fight with an elderly stalker.

The legendary actor is sporting a bandage and a small splint on the third finger of his left hand.

He was left in agony when tendons on the digit were ripped from the bone - but Hoffman remains coy about the cause of the injury.

He says, "You have the exterior tendon that's attached to the bone, and my tendon came off the bone. So I have to wear this (bandage) for the next eight weeks.

"I got it in a fight. It was a female! She was a stalker - she was about 82 but she had been following me around for about forty years!"

Hoffman was in the UK last week to promote his new movie Last Chance Harvey, which sees him team up with british star Emma Thompson.

Next month he begins shooting Little Fockers with Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro as he reprises the role of Bernie Focker.
