George Clooney's ex-girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis is fronting a new PETA campaign warning of the dangers of leaving dogs in parked cars.
If it's too hot for us, it's definitely too hot for our dogs
The Italian star asks: "Would you lock your dog in the car while you ran a quick errand?" in the hard-hitting TV spot, in which she wakes up to discover that she has been trapped in a locked car on a summer's day.
Sweating and gasping for air, Canalis struggles to unlock The Doors and open the windows until she finally collapses.
She says: "It's very important if you see a dog unattended inside a car that you don't leave the situation. If it's too hot for us, it's definitely too hot for our dogs".
