Degeneres Interviews New Wife on Seven-Month Anniversary

Newlywed Ellen Degeneres celebrated her seven-month anniversary on Monday(16Mar09) by interviewing her wife, Portia De Rossi, on her U.S. daytimetalk show.

The actress was invited on the show to talk about her new TV comedy Better Off Ted and both stars decided to chat on their anniversary.

Introducing her guest, DeGeneres said, "Our first guest is the star of the new Abc show Better Off Ted; she also happens to be my wife. Please welcome the lovely Portia De Rossi".

The host then asked her wife, "How's married life for you... Are you enjoying being married to me?" A giggling De Rossi responded, "Yes, I am".

DeGeneres then flashed up a photo from the couple's wedding day, prompting a gushing De Rossi to coo, "That was the happiest day of my life, it really was".

The actress went on to describe her partner as the perfect wife, adding, "People always ask me if there's anything that she does that's annoyingaround the house, like if she leaves wet towels on the floor, if she's messy, and I gotta tell you she is considerate and kind and wonderful and neat".

DeGeneres responded, "I would say the same thing; not the neat part... You're not as neat".

The candid chat continued and De Rossi confessed that becoming the partner of someone "so famous" took a lot of adjusting to.

She added, "We were in Rome... and I was dying to show her this beautiful piazza and we were walking around but we got swamped by paparazzi".

The couple also addressed rumours suggesting De Rossi is pregnant.

The actress joked, "I probably should have told you before the tabloids told you".
