UNION RECALLS RAPE FOR MOVIE ROLE
Screen star GABRIELLE UNION drew on traumatic memories of her rape to develop her sexually abused character in new movie NEO NED.
The sexy actress was compelled to sign up for the film - in which Union's character pretends to be ADOLF HITLER in an effort to block out her troubled past - after realising the brutal sex attack she suffered at 19 left her with a similar desire to change her identity.
She says, "I had to draw upon it. I understood how far the mind can go to protect you from reality. I thought about the points where I felt the most out of control of myself, and when I didn't want anybody to be around me.
It was hard."
Meanwhile in other movie related news, the makers of the PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN sequel have sparked outrage on the island of Bataka, Dominica - by roasting JOHNNY DEPP alive on a spit in a cannibal scene.
Outraged residents of the tranquil island have accused studio bosses of insinuating their forebears practiced such inhumane rituals.
And CHARLES WILLIAMS, the chief of the 3,500 remaining natives, has added his voice of dissent - and has blasted the locals who have signed up as extras in the movie for $95 (£50) a day.
However, film bosses are attempting to downplay the uproar by insisting the scene is light-hearted and in no way reflects the history of Bataka.
