Gene Simmons and Shannon Tweed's relationship in 'tatters'

Gene Simmons has confessed his longterm relationship with model Shannon Tweed is in tatters as he attempts to mend years of affairs and cheating.

The couple fell out during filming in the latest season of the reality show Gene Simmons Family Jewels, after the Kiss rocker poked fun at his womanising ways.

Joint interviews to promote the new series have been frosty to say the least, with Tweed walking out on one as her boyfriend as he joked about his 'busy penis'.

The rocker has agreed to seek counnselling in a bid to save the relationship and admits that he has a lot of work to do.

He tells Parade magazine: "When you have a cut on your hand, it doesn’t heal overnight. It takes time. And, if you don’t take care of it, it gets inflamed. We’re working on it.

　 "It’s not easy on the kids, Shannon, or myself."

Simmons and Tweed have two grown-up children.
