George Clooney is to follow the sleepless nights he spent organising lastweek's (22Jan10) Hope For Haiti Now telethon by heading back to war-torn Darfur.

The movie star was the man behind Friday's star-studded telethon, whichhas raised over $60 million (£37.5 million) so far for the relief effort in earthquake-ravaged Haiti, and now he's set to return to Africa for a new mercy mission.

He says, "I'm on my way there... There are a lot of problems going on. The North-South agreement is falling apart".

But every day we don't do something, and every day this goes on, thousands of people are dying and dying horrific deathsGeorge Clooney

Clooney first went to Darfur in 2006, when he recorded a documentary about the struggles of Darfur refugees.

Upon his return, the Oscar winner spearheaded a campaign to lobby U.S. politicians to do more to help those caught up in the tribal wars.

Clooney told leading politicians, "We can all talk about this and make speeches and say this is horrible and we have to do something. But every day we don't do something, and every day this goes on, thousands of people are dying and dying horrific deaths".
