Close Victorious in TV Carrot Competition

Glenn Close proved to be a real big mouth during a recent TV appearance -after she was challenged to see how many baby carrots she could fit into her mouth.

The veteran actress showed off a photograph of her daughter Annie with a mouthful of carrots while she was being interviewed by Jimmy Fallon during his Late Night show on U.S. TV on Tuesday (31Mar09).

' And Annie won - she fit 42 carrots

Close explained to the host the picture was taken after her family decided to hold an impromptu competition at the dinner table.

She said "There's always a contest going on (at our house). We were having dinner and there's a lot of carrots around and we said, 'Let's just see who can fit the most carrots into their mouth.' And Annie won - she fit 42 carrots".

Fallon then stunned the Fatal Attraction star by revealing a giant bowl of carrots from under his desk - and challenging her to another round of carrot fun.

But their TV showdown wasn't even a close call - Fallon erupted into fits of giggles as a victorious Close expertly tucked the veggies beneath her tongue.
