TV executives behind hit medical drama Grey's Anatomy have berated Katherine Heigl for her recent outburst in which she criticized the show's "cruel and mean" work schedule.

Steve McPherson, President of America's ABC network, has slammed the Knocked Up star for going public with her opinions - because she's not the only staff member putting in long hours on the show.

He tells the Hollywood Reporter, "I think it's unfortunate. People are going to behave in the way they choose to behave.
