Singer Gwen Stefani was left disappointed when Madness star Suggs failed to turn up to her recent concert in London - sending his two daughters in his place.

Stefani has admitted to harbouring a crush on the Baggy Trousers hitmaker and revealed she once cried when she found out he is married.

The No Doubt frontwoman even sent the 47-year-old tickets to her show at Wembley Arena last year (07), hoping to meet her idol.

Suggs' daughters were left cringing when the star stopped the gig and turned the spotlight on the audience asking, "Where's Suggs? I've heard he's here tonight."

The English singer eventually made it to one of Stefani's concerts, catching up with her on the Prague, Czech Republic, leg of her Sweet Escape tour.

But he insists he still can't understand Stefani's obsession with him.

He says, "I think she must have been looking at photographs of me from a long, long time ago."
