The singer/actress married ice hockey star Mike Comrie in August (10), six months after he asked for her hand in marriage during a romantic break in Hawaii in February (10).

But Duff admits she had to take a closer look at ring once she accepted Comrie's proposal, because she couldn't believe such a huge stone could be real.

She tells Access Hollywood, "I was kind of scared to look at (the ring)! I got a glance and it was like, 'Are you crazy? Are you kidding me? That’s not real. There’s no way it’s real!' "I don’t actually know (the carat size). I wasn’t like, ‘Now, how many carats is this?’” The ring is rumoured to be worth a staggering $1 million (£666,667).
