Hilary Swank's psycho landlord

Hilary Swank is set to star in a new horror film.

The 'Million Dollar Baby' actress will play the victim of a crazed stalker in upcoming frightener 'The Resident'.

The film is being produced by newly reformed studio Hammer Film Productions - which made several classic films based on horror characters such as Dracula and Frankenstein between the 30s and the 70s - and is set to be directed by Finnish filmmaker Antti Jokinen.

The original script tells the story of a female doctor who starts to feel she is being watched after moving into a Brooklyn loft apartment and soon discovers her landlord is a psychopath.

Music video director Joniken - who co-wrote the script with 'Secretary' scribe Erin Cressida Wilson - will be making his feature film debut on the project.

Shooting is due to begin in May 2009.
