Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull has dominated the UK box office this week grossing over £12 million in it's opening weekend.
The film, which sees Harrison Ford reprise his role as teacher and adventurer Henry Jones Jr, is the first Indiana Jones film in nineteen years.
Crystal Skull is set in 1957 and an ageing well Indiana Jones is at Hanger 51 at a military base in Nevada, having been kidnapped by the Russians who are looking for an artifact that will help them become a dominating force.
About to leave for England Jones meets rebellious greased up Mutt ( Shia LaBeouf) who has a proposition for the ardent adventurer.
The mission could lead to unearth one of the most spectacular archaeological in history: the Crystal Skull of Akator.
The film was the only movie to break the £1 million barrier this week as well as being the only new release to make the top ten.
Last week's number one Iron Man dropped to number three but still put in a good performance grossing over £834 thousand.
