James Cameron has asked a judge to dismiss a $2.5 billion lawsuit filed by a man who alleges the director stole his idea for Avatar.
Sci-fi screenwriter Bryant Moore filed suit against Cameron late last year, claiming the moviemaker based his highly-successful film on his scripts for two projects called Aquatica and Descendants The Pollination.
Moore alleges Avatar shares key plot details with his work and is demanding billions of dollars in damages.
However, Cameron has now filed his own legal documents in a bid to have the case thrown out, insisting Avatar's plot and characters are completely different to Moore's projects, and urging a judge to dismiss the lawsuit immediately, according to TMZ.com.
