2004 is the year that the boundaries of R&B has been pushed in all directions by the likes of Outkast, Kelis and N.E.R.D. Meanwhile, in the UK , singers such as Joss Stone and Amy Winehouse have followed suit, offering their own twist to the R&B/soul cannon. Ready to join this group of unique sounding artists is twenty one year old singer-songwriter Jamie Scott . Often armed with no more than an acoustic guitar, Jamie has been causing a stir where ever he performs: winning over some of the unlikeliest audiences in the process with his brand of what he describes as “guitar based acoustic soul”.His songs display an astonishing depth and maturity that belie his years. His debut single “Just” released on the 9th August is a funky and soulful gem that will no doubt comparisons will be made to the likes of Stevie Wonder and Jamiroquai. The lyrics of single, “Just, were inspired by a poem by the mystic writer, Kahil Gibran. His debut album will be out later this year. Jamie’s highly individual sound matches a love of classic 70s artists such as, Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye, with an understanding of new soul of artists such as Alicia Keys, Musiq and D’Angelo. It is little wonder that Blues & Soul magazine last year snapped Jamie up to perform on one of their prestigious new artist university tours.Jamie is currently on tour with Lemar and is going down a storm, he has recently supported the Sugarbabes on their tour and Ginuwine at the Sheperds Bush Empire and met with a similarly ecstatic response.Visit the official siteVisit the official site
