Javier Bardem turned down a role in 'Nine' because he was tired. The 'No Country for Old Men' star says he enjoyed reading the script for the musical - which is also set to star his girlfriend Penelope Cruz - but was exhausted from working on the Coen Brothers movie. He explained: "First of all, I think 'Nine' is spectacular material and a spectacular script by Anthony Minghella. "I think director Rob Marshall can't be nicer, he's really multi-talented, one of the nicest people I've ever met and it's going to be a unique and extraordinary work."However it came to me in a moment when I was really involved, and really broken. I was tired and they perfectly understood that respected that, but I know it's going to be a fantastic, unique experience."The Oscar-winner also revealed that he is desperate to make another movie in his native Spain. He added: "It's been a long time since I received something that really drives me crazy in Spain and I haven't worked in my own language since 2003 in "The Sea Inside".
