Joan Collins' Husband to the Rescue After Backstage Blackout

Joan Collins almost failed to return to the stage during a performance of her one-woman show in New York on Wednesday (24Nov10) after losing her way when the lights went out as she changed costumes.

The veteran actress best known in the United States for the role of the equally flamboyant Alexis Colby in the long running television series Dynasty, had dashed backstage to switch outfits inbetween scenes of An Evening With Joan Collins when she was caught in the blackout - leaving her lost in the dark.

Luckily her husband Percy Gibson came to her rescue and helped to guide her in the right direction to complete her production.

She tells the New York Post's Page Six gossip column, "Thankfully, my husband, Percy, was there to give me a hand. Otherwise, I'd have been stuck."
