Jodie Foster Gets Brave At Number One
Jodie Foster is back at the top of the U.S. box office after her new vigilante film THE BRAVE ONE claimed $14 million (GBP7 million) at the box office in its opening weekend.
The R-rated film, in which the Silence of The Lambs star plays a vengeful girlfriend on the hunt for her slain lover's killer, has displaced last week's number one, 3:10 to Yuma, which slips a place to number two on the new countdown with a $9.2 million(GBP4.6 million) weekend take.
Billy Bob Thornton's turn as a psychotic gym teacher in Mr. Woodcock earned that film the number three spot with an opening weekend box office tally of $9.1 million (GBP4.55 million).
The only other new entry in the new top 10 is Dragon Wars at number four.
