Joely Richardson Joins the Tudors

Joely Richardson is throwing herself back into work following the tragic death of her sister Natasha earlier this year (09) - she has landed a high profile role in period drama the Tudors.

The former Nip/Tuck star was left devastated when her sibling passed away in March (09) following a skiing accident.

She recently completed work on TV movie The Day Of The Triffids and is continuing her busy schedule with an appearance in the hit historical TV show opposite Jonathan Rhys Meyers, who portrays King Henry Viii.

Richardson will join the programme as Henry's sixth and last wife Catherine Parr, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The British actress will appear in five episodes of the upcoming fourth season, which is due to air in America in 2010.
