Some people are just never happy. After establishing himself as one of the biggest names in musical theatre, John Barrowman still felt he needed more on his plate.

Known as an actor, musical performer, dancer, singer and television presenter, it seems there is no showbiz pie the star hasn't got his fingers in.

If I have to have something to fall on, he insisted, it will have to be my a*s

Now the multi-talented 41-year-old has released his second studio album 'Music, Music, Music' to add to his growing back catalogue of achievements.

Born in Glasgow, Scotland, John began his journey into the entertainment industry at an early age, climbing onto the counter at the record shop where his mother Marion worked to sing tracks from the top ten singles.

At the age of eight, the star and his family were relocated to Illinois, US, due to his father, also named John, needing to move for work. It was there John really caught the acting bug, starring in several school productions including 'Hello Dolly', 'Oliver!', 'Camelot', 'Li'l Abner' and 'Anything Goes'.

So determined was John to succeed, he refused his teacher's advice to study a more academic subject so he would have something to fall back on ("If I have to have something to fall on," he insisted, "it will have to be my a*s").

His professional career began in London, England in 1989, playing Billy Croker in another production of 'Anything Goes', a role he returned to once again in a 2003 revival.
