Josh Brolin was terrified of tackling Bush

3 months ago 27th Aug 00:01

Josh Brolin turned down the role of George W. Bush when it was first offered to him, and even gave director Oliver Stone a list of actors who could play the U.S. president better than he could.

The actor was terrified of tackling the leader in the controversial biopic - entitled W - fearing he'd struggle to mimic the president for the length of a feature film.

He tells New York magazine, "At first I said no to Oliver. I gave him names of other actors. I was afraid to do it.

"Some of these comedians out there, they do a carbon copy W. that is hilarious for fifteen seconds. Then you ask, 'What's the next joke?"
