Kal Penn will forever remember the moment U.S. President Barack Obama repealed the military's controversial Don't Ask, Don't Tell policy, branding the historical event "awe-inspiring".

The star quit TV drama House in 2009 to join Obama's office as Associate Director of Public Engagement and he was present earlier this year (11)when the leader overturned the policy which had prohibited military personnel from openly revealing their sexuality since 1993.
Penn, who has since completed a two-year stint in Washington, D.C., admits that was the highlight of his political career.
He tells People magazine, "The signing ceremony for the executive orderthat repealed Don't Ask, Don't Tell was awe-inspiring".
