Kate Beckinsale's nine-year-old daughter wants her to work with Marilyn Monroe.

The 35-year-old actress admits Lily, her child with ex-boyfriend Michael Sheen, would rather she teamed up with "retro" stars such as Marilyn and Joan Crawford instead of Hollywood heartthrobs including Ben Affleck and Hugh Jackman.

Kate is quoted as saying: "Lily is really retro so she's kind of like, 'Oh I wish you could work with Joan Crawford or Janice Joplin'. I'm like, 'They're dead now. I totally get it, but it's probably not going to happen'.
