Heigl And Knight Leave U.S. Doctor Show

Grey's Anatomy stars Katherine Heigl and T.R. Knight are leaving the hit U.S. hospital drama, a fellow castmember has confirmed.

The pair have played doctors Izzie Stevens and George O'Malley on the hospital drama since it first aired in 2005, but according to their co-star, actor, James Pickens Jr., the actors have chosen to end their run.

Pickens tells Usmagazine, "Yes, she (Heigl) is (leaving). Wherever Katherine goes, I wish her nothing but the best".

He adds, "(Knight is) going too. He just wanted to pursue other career paths".

But there is hope 35-year-old Knight will return in the future to reprise his role.

A source tells Usmagazine, "Writers are scrambling to find a believableexit for George, one that would leave the door open for him to come backsomeday".

Grey's Anatomy producers could not be reached to to confirm the departures as Wenn went to press.
