Injured Katie Price Pulls out of Marathon

Katie Price has pulled out of the upcoming London Marathon after suffering a knee injury.

The former glamour model was due to compete in the 26.4 mile (42.2 kilometre) race across the British capital on Sunday (17Apr11) to raise moneyfor charity, but she has now dropped out on doctor's orders.

She still plans to hand her sponsorship money to good causes and has offered to double all contributions sent in by fans.

In a post on her official website, Price writes, "It is with great regret that I have had to pull out of this year's London Marathon.

"I've been training really hard, but it became apparent... that my knee is not strong enough to withstand extensive runs. I have done everything I can to getover the injury, but my physiotherapist has said that I should pull out to avoid any long-term damage.

"I hope those that have agreed to sponsor me will agree to their donation still going to the very worthwhile charities, but anyone who does want their donation returned should contact me through my website...I intend to double all the donations that are not returned".
