Keira Knightley hates wearing expensive dresses - because she always spills food on them.

The stunning star - who once admitted she was "very scruffy" despite her A-list wardrobe - says she prefers wearing plain clothes so she doesn't spoil them with her sloppy eating habits.

She revealed: "I'm not into expensive clothing, because I'm clumsy - I always spill things down me. It's jeans and T-shirts with me."

Keira also confessed she has nothing to do with her stylish outfits.

She told Britain's You magazine: "My fashion sense comes from whichever stylist has been hired for me because I'm so crass. I still believe I'm more of a tomboy than a girlie girl."
