Kevin Spacey visited a federal prison in Maryland on Monday (27Apr09) to meet with disgraced Washington, D.C. lobbyist Jack Abramoff.

The two-time Oscar winner is preparing to play Abramoff in a new movie.

Con man Abramoff is serving time behind bars for his part in an influence-peddling scandal in the heart of American politics.

The 50-year-old businessman is scheduled to be released at the end of 2011.

He pleaded guilty to three criminal felony counts in a Washington, D.C., federal court in January, 2006.

Abramoff was charged in the defrauding of American Indian tribes and corruption of public officials.
