Kevin Spacey has a regal way to impress strangers - he has become a British lord.

The American Beauty actor was stunned when a pal paid for the honour through a company specialising in legally recognised titles.

The gift means the Hollywood star can change the name on his passport, driving licence, and bank cards - and call himself Lord Kevin Spacey.

And he admits it comes in use when restaurant waiters or bar staff shun him.

He says, "I was able to get a credit card that actually says Lord Kevin Spacey. I use it when I really get bad service."

I sat next to Mr. Spacey on a JFK to LAX flight. Very nice guy.
