Kim Cattrall has pledged her support to a campaign calling for the legalisation of assisted suicide.
The Sex and the City star has become a patron of Dignity in Dying, a group lobbying for reform of the U.K.'s Suicide Act 1961.
Cattrall played a paralysed sculptor who wished to end her life in the 2005 West End production Whose Life Is It Anyway?, and she is now backing a change in the law to legalise euthanasia in the U.K.
She tells Britain's Daily Telegraph, "A law to allow assisted dying would protect dying people from the awful situations they currently face if they want some control over their death."
Currently in the U.K., a person faces up to 14 years in jail if they are convicted of helping in a suicide.
