Kim Richards Details Battles With Alcoholism

Paris Hilton's aunt Kim Richards has finally come clean about her battles with alcohol, insisting she's determined to avoid another relapse.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star was rumored to be struggling with drinking issues throughout the show's first season and she checked into a treatment center for undisclosed reasons earlier this year (12).

Richards was soon discharged and she later confessed to being an alcoholic during the programme's reunion show.

Now she has opened up about her demons, revealing her booze problems stemmed from having low self-esteem.

Speaking to U.S. TV personality Andy Cohen, she says, "When I first started the season, I was still not drinking and you could see my confidence level.

"And then you could see just from my behavior when I lost my confidence and started drinking. I could not watch the show when I saw that behavior coming out of myself because I was so ashamed of what I'd done...

"I felt off. I just didn't like me anymore and I couldn't look at myself in the mirror anymore...

"It's just sad. The voice wasn't mine, the mannerisms weren't mine. It just wasn't me".

Richards finally sought professional help and now she's determined to stay sober, adding, "I'm a person that has done it and relapsed and done it.

"But at least I'm trying...I just really want this. I'll work really hard for it every day".
