Kirsten Dunst has reportedly signed on to star in 'Spider-Man 4'.
The film's producer Todd Black told reporters the actress would reprise her role as Peter Parker's sweetheart Mary-Jane in the next instalment of the superhero franchise.
He told America's New York Post newspaper: "Kirsten is definitely confirmed".
Fans were worried Kirsten, 27, was planning to pass on the film as she didn't sign a contract when Tobey Maguire did.
Todd also rubbished rumours Tobey's character would wed Kirsten's Mary-Jane in the film.
He said: "I have no knowledge of that subplot".
But Todd did discuss the film's villain, which has been taken from the original comic book series.
He said: "We're just coming up with who the villain's going to be now. We'll be shooting in New York again. Trust me, people will appreciate who we pick, because it'll be a big part of New York."

The New York connection puts Kraven the Hunter and organised crime boss Kingpin at the top of the list of potential baddies.
'Spider-Man 4' is due to be released in 2011.
