Kyra Sedgwick: 'Crawford has big shoes to fill'

Kyra Sedgwick has claimed that Chace Crawford has 'big shoes to fill' when he takes of her husband Kevin Bacon's role in the remake of Footloose.

Gossip Girl star Crawford has landed the role of Ren McCormack after High School Musical star Zac Efron pulled out of the project.

In an interview with People the actress said: "It's that Chace Crawford guy, right?" Sedgwick said. "We're thrilled! [Daughter] Sosie is a big fan.

"We met him at the White House Correspondent's Dinner. Kevin and he had a chat. He's very sweet.

"He has big shoes to fill!"

Crawford is currently undergoing gruelling singing and dancing lessons before the cameras role on his remake.

In the movie, city boy Ren moves to a small town where rock music and dancing is outlawed. Ren decides to get the laws changed, and during the process Ariel falls in love with him.
