Liu Bonded With Mum On The Set Of New Thai Film.... Charlie's Angels star Lucy Liu bonded with her Chinese mother on the set of her new film 3 Needles after jetting her off to Thailand for the adventure of a lifetime.The actress had never asked her strict mum to join her on the set of a film before because she feared she wouldn't enjoy the experience.But when Liu got the chance to spend time with the Chinese hill tribes in Thailand for her latest labour of love, she couldn't resist taking her mother with her. She says, "It was really wonderful to be able to speak Chinese, which is what I grew up with, and sort of touch on that again because it brought me to a very personal place."I also had my mother with me, which was really great because she's never been on a set with me before. It was nice for her to see what I do."We'd get up really early in the morning and we'd come home really late at night and then do the thing over and over again... It was a passion project and it was a really great bonding experience for us."We had an incredible time there just talking to the people and learning about different things and we walked around and visited different areas when we had time."
