Lewis Hamilton has flown back to his native U.K. after learning his aunt is losing her battle with cancer.
"It's the toughest time for the family, as it would be for any family. I can't wait to go see her. I want to spend every second I can with her.
The Formula 1 ace, who is dating singer Nicole Scherzinger, was devastated to learn his beloved aunt Diane has just weeks to live, and he has cut short his vacation in America to spend time with his dying relative.
In a series of posts on his Twitter.com page this weekend (18-19Aug12), he writes, "Will you please say a prayer for my auntie? She's dying from cancer and just been told she has weeks to live.
"It's the toughest time for the family, as it would be for any family. I can't wait to go see her. I want to spend every second I can with her.
"Can't believe this is happening. Love u (sic) auntie Diane. You guys are the best, thank you so much for these messages... she is someone who only thinks of others".
