Lily Cole Shines on Graduation Day

Smart supermodel Lily Cole donned a different kind of gown on Thursday (30Jun11) as she collected her degree at a graduation ceremony in Cambridge, England.

The 23-year-old catwalk beauty has been awarded double first honors - the highest possible grade - in History of Art from the prestigious Cambridge University after achieving top marks in both her first and final year exams.

The actress joined around 100 classmates as they walked from the institute's King's College to the historic Senate House to receive their degree certificates, as her proud mum watched.

Despite her fashion credentials, Cole kept to the Cambridge tradition of only wearing black and white on Graduation Day, opting for black trousers and a white blouse to go underneath her fur-trimmed graduation gown.
