Little Britain set for the big screen

Comedy duo Matt Lucas and David Walliams are to make a movie of the hit TV show Little Britain.The feature length film is backed by Spice Girls manager Simon Fuller and will include all the show's favourite characters played by Lucas, 34, and Walliams, 37.An American version of the TV show, Little Britain USA, was aired on Sunday night with a string of new characters. A source tells British newspaper the Sunday Mirror that plans for the film were put on hold while the pair concentrated on the American TV show.But now the duo is keen to get the big screen version started.The source says, "It is being backed by one of Hollywood's biggest studios, so no expense will be spared. Executives see the pair as the next big British comedy talents after Sacha Baron Cohen and Ricky Gervais."
