Madonna Boots Sells For Thousands.... A pair of customised Dr Marten boots signed by pop icon Madonna were sold for a staggering $7,485 (£4,000) on Wednesday night (25Oct06) on internet auction site eBay.com.The red boots were originally part of a collection of Dr Martens, customised and exhibited by celebrities and fashion designers, including Sir Mick Jagger, to draw attention to World Aids Day in 1998.The items formed part of Britain's National Giving Week (begs16Oct06) - led by the Charities Aid Foundation (Caf), and were put up for sale along with an autographed Muhammad Ali picture, which went for $5,616 (£3,000), and a signed Robbie Williams song sheet, selling at $3,555 (£1,900).However, the biggest sale was for a personalised Madame Tussauds wax model of the winning bidder, who paid $125,384 (£67,000) for the honour.0Comments | Be the first to comment!
