Carey Breastfeeding Probe Closed

Social workers who interviewed Mariah Carey after the birth of her twins have ended their investigation after concluding the newborns are in a safe environment, according to a U.S. report.

Officials from the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services (Dcfs) launched the probe after receiving an anonymous tip that Carey had exposed the tots, Moroccan and Monroe, to alcohol by drinking Guinness in hospital.

The visit came amid reports a nurse had recommended the dark beer to improve lactation.

Child protection authorities interviewed Carey again on Thursday (26May11) and dismissed the case after spending time with the singer and her kids, concluding there was no merit to the complaint, according to Tmz.com.

Carey gave birth to her first children - a son and a daughter - on 30 April (11), the date of her third wedding anniversary with husband Nick Cannon.
