Mark Wahlberg wooed his wife by taking her to church on their first date.

The Hollywood actor, who is a Catholic, met model Rhea Durham in 2001 and decided on an unusual romantic tactic to land his lady - he invited her to take in a local service.

I asked if she wanted to hang out the next day and she did, so I said, 'Well, come to church with me

He tells Cosmopolitan magazine, "We met through a mutual friend in New York. I asked if she wanted to hang out the next day and she did, so I said, 'Well, come to church with me.' She was raised a Christian, not a Catholic like me. She did come - and now she's converted."

The couple married in 2009 and have three children together, as well as one more due later this year (10).
