Mel Gibson and Danny Glover are reportedly in talks for a new 'Lethal Weapon' movie.
Shane Black, who wrote the original 1987 movie, has reportedly written a possible script for a fifth instalment in the franchise - over 10 years after the release of 'Lethal Weapon 4'.
The new story would see 'Braveheart' actor Mel's character, police officer Riggs - who is preparing to quit the Los Angeles Police Department - bring former partner Murtough, played by Danny, out of retirement to solve one final crime.
Reports suggest both lead actors are interested in reprising their roles, though no deals have yet been signed.
Meanwhile, Mel will appear with Robert De Niro in murder mystery 'The Edge of Darkness'.
The 'Signs' star will play a murder detective, who discovers that his daughter led a secret life after she is murdered on his doorstep, while Robert will play the role of an operative sent to clear up the evidence.
The movie is due for release next year and will be directed by Martin Campbell.
