Gibsons Agree to Keep Finances Private in Divorce Proceedings

Mel Gibson and his estranged wife Robyn have agreed to keep their finances private throughout their ongoing divorce proceedings.

The Lethal Weapon star's wife filed to end the couple's 28-year marriage in April (09), citing "irreconcilable differences".

It later emerged the couple had split a month after Gibson was arrestedfor drink-driving in 2006.

Judge Frederick Shaller signed off on a joint request made by the couple to seal their financial records from the public on Friday (05Jun09), reports Tmz.com.

According to the order, neither party is allowed to disclose any information, including financial documents requested to establish the value of the Gibsons' Malibu, California estate - which reports have estimated to be as much as $900 million (Gbp600 million).

Robyn, who shares seven children with the star, is asking for spousal support and attorneys fees.

She is also seeking joint physical and legal custody of the couple's youngest son, Tom - their only minor child.

The actor announced his Russian girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva was expecting his eighth child last month (May09).
