Actress and activist Mia Farrow has urged the world to support the children of Haiti, after 10 Americans were charged with attempting to illegallysmuggle 30 young earthquake survivors to the U.S. The Rosemary's Baby star was appalled by news suggesting members of a Christian charity group were trying to take Haitian children away from their families and out of the country last week (ends31Jan10).

She has branded the smuggling attempt "deplorable" - and insists offering parents a better life for their children elsewhere is "completely unacceptable and immoral".

Farrow, who herself has adopted 11 children, has called on U.S. citizens to support orphanages and families struggling to rebuild their lives inHaiti, which was hit by a 7.0-magnitude quake on 12 January (10).

And she isn't the only actress with her mind on Haiti's children - Kristin Chenoweth revealed earlier this week (02Feb10) she is considering adopting an orphan from the country, after being so "moved" by the devastating scenes of destruction on TV and in newspapers.
