Michael Jackson's physician dealt blow to upcoming trial

Michael Jackson's physician has been dealt a blow, after prosecutors have won a major battle in court that says all testimony relating to the star's molestation case will be banned from the upcoming manslaughter trial.

The lawyers asked Judge Michael Pastor to block testimony related to the trial in Santa Barbara, California on Friday and the judge has agreed to the request.

TMZ.com reports suggested Steve Robel, a Santa Barbara County Sheriff's investigator at the molestation trial, was on the defence team's witness list. The prosecutors insisted the 2005 trial has no relevance to Jackson's death.

And Judge Pastor agreed on Monday, ruling that witnesses will not be allowed to discuss Jackson's child molestation case during Dr. Conrad Murray's manslaughter trial, which begins next month.

Judge Pastor has also banned Jackson's dermatologist, Dr. Arnie Klein, from testifying after prosecutors argued the defence team would try to blame the dermatologist for the King of Pop's death and take away attention from the accused, Murray.

Dr. Murray is charged with administering the anaesthetic which killed Jackson in June, 2009.
