Milo Ventimiglia Baffled By The Irony Of Fame....

Heroes star Milo Ventimiglia is stunned by the sheer number of free gifts he now receives - because he can finally afford to pay for the expensive items. The 30-year-old quickly became a household name in 2006 after landing the role of Peter Petrelli on the hit sci-fi show - and the actor insists he is still baffled by the benefits his fame has brought him.He says, "Having a recognisable face makes a world of difference. Stores now offer me great deals."It's silly - you get to a point in your career where you have the means to pay for high-ticket items and then people give you stuff (for free)".Meanwhile in further news Milo Ventimiglia has been turned into a comic book star. The actor's likeness will feature in Devil's Due Publishing's mini-series Rest, which is set to hit shelves at the end of 2008.Ventimiglia's image will be used for the comic's leading character.Rest will be written by Mike O'Sullivan and edited by X-Men comic book editor Mark Powers.

Other Heroes star Hayden Panettiere has signed up to play a brunette in a new movie - in a desperate bid to avoid being typecast as an all-American blonde.

The 18-year-old beauty, who plays a fair-haired cheerleader in the hit sci-fi TV series, recently completed filming Fireflies In The Garden, about a dysfunctional family in which a dark-haired Panettiere stars opposite Julia Roberts.

And she is hoping the dramatic role and darker locks will be enough to convince audiences of her versatility.

She says, "I wanted to kill the cheerleader image, so I changed my hair colour and wore no make-up.

"It's been very hard for me in the past to have people see me in any other way. They can be very narrow-minded".
