Kerr's Ex-Boyfriend on Trial for Fraud

The financier ex-fiance of Orlando Bloom's supermodel girlfriend Miranda Kerr is on trial in Australia accused of conning investors out of thousands of dollars.

Adrian Camilleri, who split from Kerr in 2004, allegedly borrowed largesums of money from wealthy clients - who he met through the model's mother - to provide high interest loans to those in urgent need of cash.

He is accused of fraudulently failing to repay one couple Aus123,000 ($96,000£64,000) he had borrowed.

Camilleri's attorney claimed in court in Sydney last week (ends22May09)that the defendant's business partner stole the money which was due to be repaid Kerr, who is rumored to be celebrating her engagement to Bloom, is not involved in the trial.
